The celebrities, in fact, wore black clothes adhering to the Time's up movement to express their solidarity with the victims of sexual violence, harassment and gender inequality. Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchette, Maryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington and many others have used their fame to give voice to the Time's up movement. Also many men for the evening have pled the case with black clothes. Time's up, time is up, it was founded by over 300 women among the most relevant of the showbiz with the slogan
"No more silence. No more waiting. No more tolerance for discrimination, harassment or abuse ".
Time has run out and silence and tolerance for discrimination of any kind are no longer allowed. Also many men along with the younger actors , have pled the case  with black clothes on the red carpet.

One of the undisputed protagonists of these Golden Globes, never like this time in the name and in support of women's power, is certainly Oprah Winfrey with her speech delivered on stage to the withdrawal of her career award. An exciting speech that gives strength to the equality understood in the more general sense of the term.
